Welcome back to the blog, thanks for stopping by. This post is really exciting for me because I absolutely love trays. So random, but trays are my favorite way to decorate a counter, desk, coffee table, night table, bathroom & anywhere in between. I have so many beauty products I always use and love, but these products are the perfect color scheme for my bathroom counter. Who doesn’t love good packaging ?
Everything I need to hydrate, style, and “clean” my hair.
Living Proof Texturizing Spray: This spray is perfect for keeping my curls bouncy or for giving me extra volume on days that my hair feels really flat.
OUAI Rose Oil: Highlights are a must, but they definitely dry out my hair like crazy. This oil is VERY hydrating, even a full pump may be too much (I learned that the hard way). Sometimes I put an excessive amount overnight then wash it in the morning and my hair will feel soft and frizz free throughout the day.
Fatboy Perfect Putty: I use this on days where my curls or up-do need to last very long. The texture is thick and was pretty intimidating to use at first, but if you only use a little bit, it works just right. Love this stuff!
Pearlessence Dry Shampoo: Dry Shampoo is one of the most important products to me because sometimes there’s just not enough time to wash my hair, or sometimes the curls look great but I need to hide the oil. This one is definitely one of my favorites because of the lavender smell, most dry shampoos smell like baby powder to me.
Skin Care Necessities
These three products help hydrate and even my skin tone while fighting acne and scars.
Hora Super Serum: This product is a little on the pricey side, but it definitely works. I put this on all of my acne prone areas (T-zone) and it zap zits and reduced redness almost right away. Must have.
Pearlessence Brightening Facial Serum: This product has the two key ingredients in a proper facial routine; Vitamin C and Hyaluronic Acid. This serum is for brightening and evening out skin tone and feels sooo hydrating.
Pearlessence Aloe + Rosewater: Do facial sprays even do anything? probably not. Do I have like 8 different bottles? Yup. These sprays give you a temporary feeling of hydration and smell so delicious, but thats pretty much it for me. However, this one in particular has worked as an amazing facial toner and the aloe adds extra hydration. Could be all in my head though.. but I can’t get over the smell.
Daytime, night time, & all the time.
White Kenneth Cole: I always like to have a perfume I can just put on throughout the day without worrying about wasting it. This scent is a perfect light perfume that is not too flowery.
COCO Chanel: This is a classic scent that will never get old to me. Its a very strong smell so this one is definitely more for a night out.
Alex & Ani Scent 7 Room Spritz: I have always loved room sprays and candles just as much as I love perfumes. This scent is a perfect combination of lavender and other essential oils. Smells like a spa!
A year later.... and I'm finally finished with my bedroom! Luckily, I have a very large bedroom which gave me a big blank canvas. At first, I was very unsure of what style and color combination I wanted. Instead of looking online for inspo, I went out to buy wall art and based the rest of my bedroom off of one piece. Using the colors in the painting over my bed, I went a with pink, nude, and black color scheme. I will try to link as much as I can, if not i'll find something similar. Hope you love my room as much as I do.
I've been really into white comforters and sheets because they match any bedroom style. I wanted a boho chic look for my bed so I combined a few patterns and textures that match the color scheme of course.
I always need to have a night table in my room usually for misc items, but more importantly to make sure I can hear my phone alarm. Although I prefer furniture with storage, a statement piece can help avoid night table clutter. My dresser holds my favorite room accessories, candles! Candles can dress up a room while making it feel cozy at the same time. I seriously cant stop buying candles these days, and homegoods makes it TOO easy. P.s. I always have a globe in my room to bring more travels my way
Like I said, I started with a very large blank canvas. I made sure to fill up the walls as much as possible without making it feel too cluttered. Above my dresser I have a frame, an "N" and small floating shelves I filled with small candle holders. In front of my desk I collaged different frames/paintings/mirrors that matched my aesthetic. (Mirrors make a room appear bigger)
A few months ago I ordered a dry brush on amazon to see if it would help exfoliate my body and make my skin feel smooth. I was very impressed with this product and used it every other day in the shower. About a month ago I read about dry brushing before getting in the shower. I tried it out and at first it felt a little weird but it leaves your skin feeling tingly and smooth along with a ton of benefits. Dry brushing increases the circulation to the skin which can help reduce the appearance of cellulite by breaking down all the toxins in your skin. Overtime your body accumulates a lot of dead skin cells (yuck) but dry brushing will take care of that. It helps improve muscle tone and stimulates nerve endings in the skin which gives me an instant energy boost. Brushing also unclogs your pores (making them look smaller!!) so when you put lotion on, your skin can absorb all the nutrients. So basically, WORTH IT. Before showering I brush my entire body in circular and upward motions starting from my ankles up. Then I shower to get rid of all the dead skin and toxins then moisturize. After I do this my skin is literally glowing and the softest its ever been. I’ve been doing this every day for about 2 weeks and my skin has been feeling absolutely amazing. HIGHLY recommend trying this! Thanks for reading ! You can find this item and a few more of my favorites on my amazon shopping guide!
Many of you who want to get started blogging have asked me about how I stay organized between my Instagram and my website. So this post is dedicated to all the must have apps for bloggers that I use on a daily basis.
This app saves it ALL
I've had this app for about four years now and it is absolutely one of my favorite apps. This app is free and all you have to do is create an account (so you can always login on any phone) and it will start saving all your pictures and videos from any device you log into! I have lost WAY too many pictures between losing phones and forgetting to back them up until I got this app. I am always stress free about my picture storage, and when I want to look back on pictures I can search through months, years, locations, devices, etc. Definitely a necessity to keeping your photos organized.
I used to use VSCO all the time and actually post pictures on it and follow people. These days I really just use it for editing. This app just has the best filters. Hands Down. HIGHLY considering subscribing to get more amazing filters, what do you guys think?
No one even uses snap stories anymore
Ever since this new snapchat update, I haven't been posting stories or even watching them. Instagram stories are getting more and more popular so this app is a must. Easier than it looks, you can make animated banners and stories that look professional and very beautiful.
My secret secretary.
Not only does this app give you a preview of your feed, but you can plan your captions and schedule your posts. Yes. It will do it all for you. With a simple click you can make your content calendar right on your feed. My Instagram would be a mess without you. <3333
My Food Diary
So this app isn't really just for bloggers, but I feel like having your life together helps keep your blog together. This app has a free download, but I have a subscription because it's so worth it. On Lifesum, you can pick your own diet and by inputing a little bit of information you get a customized plan for your daily calorie, carb, protein, and fat intake, step count, water intake, and fruit intake. Keeping your goal weight in mind, Lifesum is always giving you reminders to drink water or eat fruit and really motivates you to keep track of your health. Highly recommend.
Did you say one click purchase?
Amazon has it all, and amazon prime has it all... in two days. Ever since I moved out for school, I have been obsessed with amazon, and now that I've started using the app it's never been easier. Just log into your account after downloading and happy shopping!
Spring Break is coming up, you know what that means? BIKINI SEASON! Links are all bellow. Happy Shopping!
Right on time for the end of February, this month I was definitely crushing on this amazing tea. If you know me, you know I LOVE coffee, so tea is usually not my thing. BUT, after trying tea drops I have become a total tea drinker. My concern with tea usually is that it doesn't give me the energy I need for an early morning or a long day, but after trying tea drops I felt so energized I didn't even feel the need to have coffee.
Tea drops is unique from other tea's I've tried, it has no bag! The packaging is so cute, the one I tried was in the shape of a flower. It was so easy all you have to do is throw your tea in hot water then stir. Don't worry about having to add extra calories or sugars because this tea has the perfect amount of sweetness to it. Yup, its that easy.
Thank you for keeping up with may, stay tuned for what I might be crushing on next month.
I am FINALLY starting my college apartment tour series and I'm so excited. I know college apartments can be tricky to decorate without spending a ton on something temporary. My roommates and I didn't really coordinate our decorations, and we have slowly been adding more and more to our communal areas: the living room, bar, and kitchen. Luckily for us we chose a space that is very bright with mostly white walls, and with the incorporation of a light teal accent wall it gives our living room a defined space. Below I'll explain each piece with details and links for you, stay tuned for more college living posts!
So this couch came with our apartment, we weren't so sure about it at first but after a while we realized it's SO comfy. I'm not exactly sure where its from, but here are a few similar options I found.
Most of these are from TJ Maxx or Marshalls which are my absolute favorite home stores for a college budget. Every time I go to home goods or Marshalls there is ALWAYS something new and so affordable. Its a little more work having to look through a bunch of random items, but in my opinion it's soooo worth it. Here a some similar pillows and blankets I love.
For our living room furniture, we kept it very simple. On the coffee table theres a modern (fake) plant I got from Target with some marble coasters from Home Goods. This coffee table is pretty small so keeping it simple is the best way to avoid a cluttered space. Under the TV we actually placed a desk that came with our apartment and decorated with a vase and fresh flowers, magazines, a speaker, and some more coasters.
This was our most recent addition to our living room, and we plan on adding more as we go. Most of the decorations we have were a little bit of a DIY project, but nothing that took too long. The LOVE above the TV is from Nordstrom, but it was originally a rusty red color. All we did was spray it with gold spray paint, wait for it to dry, and hang them up. Behind our couch, we printed out a few pictures and hung them with clips and decorated with 3D flower decals.
Happy Valentines day!
